Wisconsin unions have been the leader in headlines of imbeciles looking for more pay, benefits and rights for workers. I'm not a constitutional lawyer or a lawyer at all for that matter. What persists to me by doing a bit of research into state legislature and constitutional rights is quite relevant to me. What the Governor has restricted in the recent bill is saving the state hundreds of millions of dollars legally. He has revoked the right for the union to overthrow any state legislation that can be lobbied in the union's favor for unfair pay and pension. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"> Why should a snow plow driver that works for the state be guaranteed his full pay and benefits after retirement (not even including what his family gets)? Why should any state worker be allowed to overthrow a state passed law for pay increase? These people already make 42% more than people in the private sector. I respect the Police officers and Firemen for putting their lives on the line, but should a street sweeper be granted the same benefits? No. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"> Our economy stinks and we need to cut back. I'm sick of hearing about the "skilled worker" that works for a car company or otherwise that merely presses a button every five minutes and gets paid $70 an hour. The rest of us are working our asses off to make ends meet while these people are represented by the Government. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"> What really irks me is these thousands of teachers and state workers running around in the streets saying the kids and people are in their best interest. Really? Why aren't you at work? What good are you doing anyone by running across state lines or spending days in a state capitol, defecating in the halls, destroying monuments and sending death threats to elected officials? </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"> The majority of the Democratic party has spoken for itself with these antics, especially since most were bussed in by the Obama administration.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Shame on you.</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-43612339413537010352010-10-15T22:41:00.000-07:002010-10-15T22:44:02.632-07:00The Oil Issue That Nobody Has Addressed...1) China and India are drilling 50 miles off the shore to Key West... Not only that but they can do "slant" drilling which will let them not only drill into the Cuban outer Continental Shelf but also drill our own legal off shore oil fields. China is also planning on using the same technology that we wanted to use for Anwar.<br />
<br />
2) In 2007 congressional democrats led an effort which became law to prevent the department of interior from enacting new rules for commercial oil shale leases until at least October 2008. The republicans in May this year tried to get around it. But in the end they didn't go after the shale.<br />
<br />
3) Drill off the coast of Florida and California, President Clinton, no, no, no we cannot drill anything off our shores until 2012.<br />
<br />
4) Here is what's at stake: The outer continental shelf moratorium, the at LAN tack ocean, the outer continental shelf moratorium, Pacific Ocean, outer continental shelf moratorium, Gulf of Mexico.<br />
<br />
5) There is even a congressional ban on doing an analysis of the resource potential for oil and gas in the Atlantic, Pacific and the eastern gulf. We can't even say can we look into it. Congress has said no. Then the Anwar. Back in 1995 President Clinton vetoed it. It is 700 miles away from a tree. Also LAX terminal is larger then Anwar.<br />
<br />
6) Oil, when he vetoed this, was $19 a barrel. He said we didn't need the oil that much. New technology was right around the corner and it would be until 2007 until we got the oil.<br />
<br />
7) Now oil is $125 a barrel, up from $19 a barrel. We would have been pumping that oil out now. They say, well, there's not that much oil to get, yet. Here's their solution: They don't want to go into Anwar. Let's not go in and take the shale in the mountains. Let's not go to the take coal. We're three times the size of Saudi Arabia in coal to oil. Here's their solution: Empty out the strategic petroleum reserves. Empty out the strategic oil reserves. It's now holding 700 million barrels of oil. We're at war in the Middle East. Empty out the strategic oil reserve? Are we intentionally trying to destroy ourselves?<br />
<br />
8) If you go to buy a new car, it's going to cost you about $2,000 extra. Because the trains are overloaded, because we can't afford to ship products by air anymore, because the airlines are becoming obsolete, the airlines cost too much money to ship things. So, people think, well, I'll just ship it by train. Well, now the Chicago -- the backlog on the trains in Chicago is so enormous, it's costing $2,000 extra per car to get it onto a train.<br />
<br />
9) The airlines announced last week, the people who sell the jet fuel to the airlines (the airlines are in such precarious positions for the first time ever) they're being told you have to pay cash for everything. They used to have a 20 day turn around. They would give them the jet fuel and the airlines had 20 days to pay it off. That means the people who are selling the airlines' fuel think they're not good for 20 days.<br />
<br />
Now for the Cap and Trade bill congress is debating this week (Hillary, Obama and McCain all approve and support this bill).<br />
<br />
1) The new cap and trade bill will make gas go up $1.50 a gallon right from the start.<br />
<br />
2) The EPA estimates it will take 1.1 to $2.8 trillion out of our GDP. 70 percent of our GDP is consumer spending. That means to take $2.8 trillion out of the GDP it means that you have $2.8 trillion or about, what, 70 percent of that, 1.5, $1.8 trillion less to spend.<br />
<br />
3) And it's not even sure how much this will help the environment. Even if the bill works exactly as promised, it would cut global CO2 concentration by only 4 percent, which wouldn't produce even a measurable drop in temperatures.<br />
<br />
4) The bill would impose an average of more than $80 billion in new energy taxes every year<br />
<br />
5) The bill aims to gradually cut US emission of greenhouse gases by 2050, to 60 to 65 percent below 2005 levels. That's an even more ambitious goal than the one in the 1997 Kyoto Treaty, which the Senate condemned 95-0, as far too burdensome for the US economy.<br />
<br />
6) The bill's backers claim that it will create lots of new "green jobs." But there's no credible evidence to support that. To the contrary, a study conducted by consulting firm CRA International found that, in its first seven years, the bill could cause a net loss of 1.2 million jobs.<br />
<br />
7) It also would mean higher energy costs for every American. The Heritage Foundation estimates that from 2012-2030 every household will pay on average $8,870 extra to buy energy - not including higher gasoline prices.<br />
<br />
8) Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) has already announced her plans for the windfall: Give a quarter of it ($800 billion) to the poor and half ($1.5 trillion) to pet Democratic projects (such as wildlife adaptation, international aid and mass transit) and special interests (such as alternative energy start-ups and auto-manufacturing retooling groups). The rest ($900 billion) she'd direct to "deficit reduction," DC-speak for "We'll do with it as we damn well please."<br />
<br />
It should be no surprise that Congress approval rating is at 13% and it also makes me wonder why the Democrats are confident they will keep their seats and gain new ones with such a low approval rating.<br />
surreal.<br />

Without getting into lengthily details, they essentially called the owner of the car a liar. They tested the car and were "unable to duplicate the same scenario". I've heard the 911 tape as well as many of you have and if the guy is putting on a show he deserves an Oscar. The media has since started slamming the guy with things like: "he had financial trouble in 2008", "he couldn't make the payments", "he's looking for a new car for free", "he's looking for money". Those are all great ideas from conspiracy theorists.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> I'll address the quotes in sequence: </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><ul style="text-align: justify;"><li>Nobody has been able to duplicate this since the research and reporting began on this issue. Cars don't have black boxes and only very few will record information after a collision. Duplicating a software flaw (which I believe it is) takes thousands if not millions of tests. ECU's (Engine Control Units) which are the brains that drive modern day cars are for the most part using the same technology as early 90's computing. The coding is flawed, easily manipulated and sometimes downright sloppy. The problem here is that nobody regulates what makes the car go, they only regulate crash standards and emissions. </li>
</ul><ul style="text-align: justify;"><li> I'm going to address the next three quotes with one response. If the guy had financial trouble in 2008 and was not credit worthy or bankrupt, then the imbecile that approved a loan to him is at fault. I hardly find that is the case though. If he was unable to make the payments, I'm quite sure the vehicle would have been repossessed by now. I'm also rather sure that if there was evidence of default on the loan that it would have been mentioned during today's press conference. Lastly, if he wanted a free car then why would he openly state he'd never drive that car or any Toyota product again?</li>
</ul><div style="text-align: justify;"> I worked in the body business during high school and shortly thereafter. I've always told people that Toyota's were dangerous vehicles. They may be reliable mechanically as many Japanese cars are but they are made with inferior materials. I'm not going to get into technical details for fear of boring my readers but I'll make the following suggestion:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> If you plan on buying a car go with something German (they last forever and are available used fairly inexpensive), if you insist on a Japanese car go with Honda or Acura. I love America, but currently the cars are all overpriced and junk.</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-34074897431207041092010-03-09T23:37:00.000-08:002010-03-09T23:55:47.874-08:00Healthcare: Medicare, Medicaid and Veteran's Affairs.<div style="text-align: justify;"> If you are inept enough to believe the President's so called "health care bill" will save trillions, then you shouldn't even bother reading this blog. He misquoted the CBO by over $780bil, that's three quarters of a trillion dollars. But whats worse is the fact that he was off by twenty years and his bill would cost $6 trillion dollars. So we save a trillon but spend $6 trillion. So I should basically trade in my BMW and pay an additional couple thousand dollars to buy a 1978 Honda that doesn't run. But wait! Back in that car's day, it was more efficient than any other car on the road so its well worth the sacrifice! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Here's why I'm banging my head against the desk: How are there still over 40% of Americans saying Obama has it right with health care, create jobs and reduce the debt? I am a failure when it comes to math, but it only equates to simple arithmetic to take 6 and minus 1. So we spend 6 trillion, save 1 trillion and well....... Seems to me there are 5 trillion missing? Most 1st graders could figure that one out. The math is botched, the White House has a bigger propaganda scheme than the Nazi Party and Rahm seems to enjoy docking in his spare time. (look up gay docking)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Health care isn't broken, people aren't dying in the streets. Quite frankly the only thing that pisses me off about our current health system is Veteran's Affairs aka the VA. I've heard numerous stories about mistreatment, lack of care, waiting periods etc. So when you hear about Medicare cuts in a bill, the VA has already gotten the shaft. The men and women that have served to protect us aren't going to be mentioned. Nor are the inadequacies they receive medically that they were promised for life from the day they signed on. Medicare and Medicaid are partially managed by the private sector, whereas the VA is a sole government entity managed and subsidized by the U.S. Govt. And people want the Gov't to run a "public option" where the same imbeciles would decide on your health? They can't even get it right with the hero's of this country, imagine what the average Joe would get.......<br />

Never have I seen so many American athletes disrespect the flag during the National Anthem. By disrespect, I mean not holding your hand over your heart while the anthem is being played. We learned this in grade school when we recited the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before class started. Its been quite some time but maybe they don't even do that anymore. <br />
<br />
Someone needs to tell the fools that run Team USA that its a sign of disrespect to the flag and America when you don't acknowledge allegiance to your country by holding your hand over your heart. Besides that, the people that have worn their hats through it as well. My generation isn't exactly perfect but the ones following mine are beyond fundamentally flawed. If this is a sign of things to come, then America really does need a blessing from God.</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-80484085219871021292010-02-14T06:46:00.000-08:002010-02-14T06:59:22.078-08:00Socialisim...<div style="text-align: justify;"> Since when has socialism been portrayed accurately in American pop culture? I’ve never seen it covered in “Facts of Life” and I’ve watched every episode. And that lefty noise bucket Rage Against The Machine never really explained how they spent their millions. I’m guessing it’s not on Rogaine and trucker hats.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Fact is no one ever explains what socialism is when someone says “hey, my brother is a socialist”, they never follow it with “you know, that ideology that helped kill millions”. No, instead it’s “he recycles sex toys for the homeless. God he’s so caring.” So you can romanticize socialism because it’s a big fat exaggeration of sharing. As kids we’re always told to share. If you have 20 Playboys under your bed, surely you can give one to Billy who has none. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Socialism added lotion to this notion that it’s just not right for you to have a lot when others have to little. Never mind that you’ve earned your share while the others just sit around watching Judge Judy in their mesh thong. Face it, socialism is government forcing you to share your stuff with jerks. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> So the only way to expose this fraud is to start young. The next time your son mows the lawn, don’t pay him. Tell him you’re going to “spread it around” to quote our President. Yep, even though Tommy did all the work there are kids down the block that deserve that cash just as much. Now if your kid goes for this ,you have full permission to send him to me. I see house boy written all over him</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-36219176332877921902010-01-21T11:24:00.000-08:002010-01-21T11:24:50.546-08:00A day in hostages.On this day in 1981 the American hostages held in Iran were released.<br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> On Christmas day a plane was flown into Detroit with a Nigerian terrorist who attempted to ignite a substance designed to blow the plane out of the sky. Instead he burned what little existed of his groin region into oblivion before passengers quickly subdued him. The pilot accelerated the plane and made an emergency landing in Detroit where the terrorist was quickly taken into custody.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> So here we are almost 9 years after the 9/11 tragedy. On Big O's first day in office he signed one of his first executive orders weakening Homeland Security (<a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/president-obama-signs-executive-order-amend-executive-order-13462">http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/president-obama-signs-executive-order-amend-executive-order-13462</a>) and there have been many other reversals of Bush administration security polices as well. HSS Janet Napalitano juxtaposed herself before the president was even able to make a statement. First she said it was a terrorist attack then she retracted saying it was a segregated incident. Today Big O made time for his usual television appearance only 72+ hours after the threat and did just about everything but bring out his Muslim prayer rug. Advocating his usual spinelessness he went on to tell America how this was an isolated incident and Muslims helped change America. His entire staff must have been shaken as babies if they supplied him with any credible information amounting to that conclusion. <br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> The best part is that his staffers woke him immediately after hearing of his Nobel Prize, but when there was a National Security Threat they waited almost 4 hours to awaken the vacationing Big O! This administration has about as much organization and accountability as a drug addicted bum.<br />
</div><br />
beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-60011781692939999572009-12-14T21:18:00.000-08:002009-12-14T21:21:26.718-08:00From Gitmo to Illinois.<div style="text-align: justify;"> As if the detention center at Guantanamo Bay also known as Camp X-Ray wasn't plush enough. The corrupt, celebrity in chief has ordered the terrorists moved to a brand new prison in Illinois. Now I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist but isn't it kind of funny that Obama is closing Gitmo and moving terrorists to his home state? Not only that he's claiming to create or save over 3000 jobs in the process? Really? What prison in America employs 3000 plus workers? I guess if you count the inmates as workers you could come up with such a number.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Not only does this move, like the move to try terrorists in New York give them what they want; it brings the threats directly back to American soil. New York and rural Illinois now have nice big targets painted on them. The terrorists will be not only afforded creature comforts like a soccer field, two hours of recreation per day, computers and education; they'll also get a $50+ food allotment per day. Compare this to the 1 hour or less a day recreation, $2.45 a day food allotment, sparse technology access and grade school education most inmates get currently in state prison. I'd have to say terrorists get it pretty good under this administration. Its no wonder Cubans have been running towards Gitmo instead of building primitive rafts to make the 90 mile trek to the Florida coast.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> This may just be perhaps the most corrupt and out of touch administration in the history of the United States. Mr. Obama, you make Richard Nixon's crimes laughable compared to the crimes you have committed not only against the Constitution but against the American people. <br />
</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-65643911778041503512009-11-20T11:43:00.000-08:002009-11-20T12:00:32.826-08:00America: I hear toilets flushing...<div style="text-align: justify;"> The sound of toilets flushing on capitol hill isn't usually something you can hear anywhere but the bathrooms within those buildings. We can now thank the elected officials in Washington for making that sound something heard across the country. Each time one of Obama's cronies opens their mouth you can hear the sound of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the principals upon which this great nation was founded being flushed down the toilet.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Over the last months and weeks our rights are being systematically taken away from us. It seems there are very few people speaking up and the few of us that do are chastised as radicals or racists. Never in the history of this America have we had such a weak and corrupt government. The president has propagated so many lies and so much corruption that he has become almost eloquent at it. The world is laughing at us as Obama embarrassingly bows to political leaders showing weakness while he thinks the world sees him as a savior. Iran, North Korea and Syria are building up nuclear stockpiles. Russia is returning to cold war military strength. China all but financially owns America. Scarier than all of those put together is the way the president thinks of and treats our troops. "you guys make a great photo op!" <br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Five of the terrorists responsible for 9/11 are now scheduled to be tried in a civilian court in New York. The very city that suffered the most loss will now play host to the barbaric extremists that took thousands of lives on that same ground only eight years ago. As if that isn't enough, they will be afforded the rights of an American citizen under the Constitution in a civilian court of law. Attorney General Holder, Mayor Bloomberg and every other imbecile that supports this has completely lost touch with reality. We have returned to a pre 9/11 mentality and that is not only going to prove dangerous, but deadly. I hate to have such a pessimistic vision of our future but as our guard is all but gone its best to mentally prepare for the worst and hope for the best...<br />
</div>beerpundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13081653277366082902noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-317651107325587569.post-2918464562813126652009-11-09T13:02:00.000-08:002009-11-09T21:52:19.392-08:00Health Care Reform: Keepin' It Stealth!<div style="text-align: justify;"> Earlier this year we canceled the F-22 Raptor program which is the most advanced stealth fighter and the only 5th generation fighter in the world. Why? Because it was too expensive! God forbid we keep our nation safe with the latest and most advanced military technology in the world. There are more important things like all the people dying in the streets because of our horrific health care system.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Late Saturday night the House passed the Health Care Reform Act. This is the latest in stealth technology since it cost much more than the Raptor program and nobody even saw it! Remember when Pelosi said the final version of the bill would be posted online for 72 hours so Americans could view it? Well in typical liberal fashion she quickly took that back and made sure a vote would get done on Saturday night after a mere 200 or so amendments were also added to the bill. So just like a stealth fighter, we heard about it but never got to see it before the bombs were already dropped. Keep in mind that this bill was another emergency that needs to be passed right away or millions would continue to suffer! Just like that stimulus bill that would keep the unemployment rate below 8.5%...<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Last week there was a horrible shooting at Fort Hood in Texas. An Army Officer who just happened to be Muslim decided it would be a good idea to start killing soldiers that were about to deploy to Afghanistan. He was scheduled to deploy as well but since 2001 has spoken out and been an advocate against both wars. Its also been reported that he has tried to contact Al Qaeda so he could join the great ranks of those holy warriors of Islam. Political correctness needs to stop now. We face a clearly defined enemy and that is Islamic terrorists. I once observed two Middle Eastern men wearing dark sunglasses and acting strange in a security line at an airport. Between them and myself was an old woman who was barely able to walk with her cane. These men passed through the checkpoint without question or even a second look and the probably 70 or older year old woman was taken aside and searched. This occurred in 2003 so I can only imagine how much less attention would be paid to a suspicious person now for fear of someone crying race profiling.<br />
<br />
President Obama seemed to be a bit upset that the attack at Fort Hood happened since when he was speaking at a Native American Council meeting it took him an entire 5 minutes into his speech before any mention of the tragedy at Fort Hood. He was too busy introducing people, thanking people and then the expression of disgust that he had to stop something on his busy agenda to mention a tragedy. Then again why would he care about the men and women in uniform, hes left them hanging in Afghanistan for months while he plays.<br />

The markets responded quite well to this news and the news that Friday they would announce over a million jobs have been saved or created by the $700+ billion dollar spendulus bill with the documents to prove it!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Well here we are on Friday realizing that yet again the White House played a trick and our treat wasn't so nice. The Associated Press reported that the administration basically lied about the numbers they claimed on jobs. Biden, this afternoon said; that over a million jobs have been created or saved yet earlier today the Recovery.gov website had listed only 30,000 jobs created or saved as of 10/15/2009. Shortly after Biden opened his pie hole that number quickly changed to 640,329 as of 10/30/2009 on the website! I'm really starting to believe Obama does have God like powers, in a matter of minutes he made 610,329 jobs appear on that very same site. Then again, if you are going to pull numbers out of thin air at least keep up with your own lies and post the 1 million plus number that Biden claimed. So what was the outcome of all this? A massive sell off on Wall St. causing the DOW to tumble 249 points with traders saying Monday will be even worse. How could this happen? Well lets just say that I think people are starting to finally realize that nothing the White House announces regarding the economy has any truth to it.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> I said months ago that the market would pick up and tank even worse than March. Hopefully I'm wrong but I am far from convinced the worst is over...<br />

How could we forget, the entire nation was glued to their televisions awaiting news of his fate. In dramatic and heroic fashion a team of Navy SEAL snipers were dispatched then simultaneously shot and killed the pirates holding him captive aboard a life boat. Seeing this as his first international crisis, Obama quickly took credit for giving the go ahead to take out the pirates. Little do people know that he had absolutely nothing to do with that order, it was given to the SEAL team by SECNAV (Secretary of The Navy) when they were dispatched. Yet again Obama holds true to the administration's mantra of "never waste a good crisis".<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Since April we have increased our presence in the waters off of the African coast along with other NATO nations and even the Russians. Thats all well and good but quite frankly a useless strategy for patrolling hundreds of thousands of square miles looking for boats that are sometimes no more than 20ft in length. I don't disagree with having the ships there but I do think the only ships there should be those with special operations forces and aircraft on the ready. Steaming around looking for suspicious vessels or waiting for a call for help just seems like a waste of time and resources given the scope and size of the area. We have the most advanced military in the world and by far the most superior Navy. So how are we using this to our advantage? We aren't. As of now its patrol, board suspicious vessels and wait for a distress call. The strategy needs to be more proactive and utilize the technology we have to our advantage. Fly unmanned drones over the base camps of the pirates or set up an air combat patrol zone over the coast of Somalia and bomb the homes and bases they operate from. Sadly this will never happen solely because this administration is as gutless as Clinton was.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
We left Somalia in 1993 after the Blackhawk Down incident, with our tails tucked between our legs. Instead of finishing the mission, we packed up and left because Clinton didn't want anymore bad public relations from the conflict. The images of that soldier being dragged through the streets on CNN were enough to put a scare and rage into anyone, but even more reason to stay and get the job done. By leaving Somalia it has allowed the country transition even deeper into a terrorist and pirate breeding ground. I can say with a fair amount of certainty that if we had completed the mission there, the problems we are currently facing wouldn't be as severe.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> As of yesterday a British couple are being reported as kidnapped by Somali pirates. The news is still thin as there haven't been any communications or ransom demands of yet. But here we are again, scrambling to find this poor couple when this may have just been prevented by playing offense instead of defense. My thoughts and prayers go out to the couple and their family.<br />

We haven't lost 50k plus soldiers in Afghanistan and I certainly hope the total of both there and Iraq never come close to that number. Mr. Nobel Prize has done one thing to turn this war around in Afghanistan and ONE thing only; dictate a war from Washington ignoring commanders on the ground in the combat zone. He was in Florida last week pleading with troops to be patient while he makes the decision weather or not to listen to his General's suggestions for a strategy and troop increase. Frankly I felt bad for those men and women in uniform that had to listen to him make more excuses for his incompetence. Find me one Marine or just about any service member that doesn't want to just get the job done and defeat our enemies by any means necessary.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> I'd say the vast majority of my generation knows little or nothing about the Vietnam war other than a lot of people died or they're parents got really stoned. What they don't know is that we were there cleaning up after the French. They certainly don't know the main reason so many troops died was because Washington told the Military where they could and couldn't strike, contrary to the recommendations of the Commanders in theater. Now Mr. Obama finds himself at the helm of another toy, our military. He is second guessing Commanders, some of which HE appointed. In the meantime, unbeknown to him; there is no Pause button in war. People die, insurgents gain ground and the forward progress we were making is gradually erased on a daily basis.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Long Binh and Bien Hoa were battles fought during 1968 in Vietnam are forgotten in today's modern school of warfare but should serve as a lesson. Outnumbered and outgunned the U.S. troops were able to win those battles because their Commanders allowed them to fight a war properly without politicians being involved. They raided churches, holy sites and used massive tear gas attacks to flush out the enemy. Troops were allowed to destroy the enemy at any cost and win what is today referred to as the first Tet Offensive.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"> Our current military doctrine and rules of engagement now reflect a more politically correct stance. Places of worship are strictly off limits and the famous order "do not fire until fired upon" no longer hold true. This administration has taken the ROE's to a whole new level by basically only allowing troops to engage an enemy once permission has been obtained through almost the entire chain of command unless otherwise specified. The call for reinforcements has up until this point been ignored by the White House. Of all the negative effects Obama's change has brought to our beloved America, this is the most troubling. Shame on you Mr. President for yet again disrespecting the men and women in uniform that fight for the very freedom which you abuse.<br />
